I Learned Something From Plants.
2018
Watercolor on Paper, 21×29”
Between A Puddle and The Ocean is a watercolor exhibit at Galerie Roberto in Molito, Alabang. Curated by Lena Cobangbang, the exhibit allowed watercolor artists to push the medium and showcase its possibilities, challenging the pre–conceived notion of what watercolour can be.
I was fortunate enough to be invited to participate in the show. For my piece, I chose to paint a corner of our garden.
Patterns on pots and plants.
I used Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolors from IFEX, and mixed my fave shades on my ceramic paint palette. Painted this on Arches 300gsm cold-pressed watercolor paper. These materials are available at National Bookstore, Art Bar, and SM Stationery sections. You can also message IFEX on Facebook and order directly from them.
Mounted my artwork on a wooden frame. Thanks to my friend Paolo Sayo for helping me with this!
This was literally a huge challenge for me because I’m so used to painting on small sheets. I loved the process, and I’m already dreaming up of painting more art pieces!
Between a Puddle and the Ocean runs at Galerie Roberto until 14 March 2018.
