  • My pattern design for the Filipinas collection of Havaianas 🖤 Throwing back to this pair of flipflops I designed 4 years ago. This was a milestone project for me (for obvious reasons: Havaianas!!) but also because of a little secret about the design process: this was my first major project where the client DID NOT ask for any revisions AT ALL! I felt so grateful for their confidence in my work. I was also grateful for how all my past client work doing projects that weren’t really “me” (lol!) helped me figure out my own design process, and led me to this point. In this industry, knowing how to work with other people, especially clients, is so important. Having a proper portfolio will attract the work you enjoy doing. Figuring out your own work process will help the client know what to expect from you, and can help the design process flow better. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m so excited to share what I’ve been developing with @makespacetoday: the CREATIVE CATALOG program, where I teach what other creatives ask me the most: Alessa, HOW MUCH SHOULD I CHARGE FOR MY WORK?😜 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Through this program, members will also be able to have the opportunity to put their work in front of brands and companies, and open up channels for collaboration.
