I began teaching arts & crafts when I was only 17 years old. It started as a summer project for the neighborhood kids. It took over my life for about 8 years, which was when I decided to focus on my design work. Last year, I promised myself I’d go back to holding workshops.
In May 2012, I partnered with DMC for a series of craft workshops, and after that, held a few more crafternoons in watercolor, jewelry-making, calligraphy, and stamping. What I love most about the crafternoons is that I now teach adults instead of just kids, and that I meet so many awesome people at the workshops. I promise to bring you more crafternoons in 2013!
What began as a ‘weird’ idea has sprung many new friendships. The Craft Soiree was something I came up with early last year, and to my surprise, so many eager crafters joined! We just had the 3rd craft soiree last Dec8, with over 20 crafters participating in the craft exchange.
Was it only this year that I met these people? It feels like I’ve known them longer. I have 2012 (and the power of e-mail) to thank for having them in my life now.
Thank you to everyone who has supported our restaurants in the past years!
To this day, I still dream about the 7-course veg meal I had in Restaurant Andre in Singapore. Just a tip: they only serve vegetarian options by request. This restaurant is really worth saving up for!
And the award goes to…Mangenguey Island in Palawan! It’s a no-brainer. When I asked PJ about his highlights of the year, our Mangenguey trip is right at the top. I would love to go back!
