Here’s a fuzzy herringbone & plaid calendar to (visually) keep you cozy this November. 😉
The lettering work is a product of a recent paint-date with Tippy of Googlygooeys. We talked about crafting, teaching workshops, bits of married life, and many other things! Haha, the conversations wandered to the most random topics, while our hands worked with brushes. It was so much fun to relax, de-stress for a bit, and most of all, play with Dr. Ph Martin’s Bleed Proof White. I think it is my new best friend. haha 😛
My fall-phabet! 🙂
Have you noticed the weather’s been much cooler recently? Though, we technically only have two seasons in our country, wouldn’t it be fun to play along with the rest of the world and surround ourselves with all things ‘fall’? I found a pumpkin patch right in Quezon City, and my mind immediately wandered to decorating the upcoming holidays’ table centerpieces!
The pumpkins are around P120-140 per kilo. They’re grown in Davao!
The plant nursery is called CedarHills Garden Center. It’s along Mother Ignacia street in Quezon City. The main shop sells potted plants, seedlings, herbs, and everything you need for planting. Around the lot, there are stalls for decorative plants and flowers.

We visited the store a few months ago and immediately fell in love with the place (and the super helpful staff!). When the opportunity to open a restaurant there presented itself, my cousins and I immediately grabbed it! We worked on the concept while we were traveling around Mindanao.
I’m super excited and happy to announce that this November, we will be opening a cafe and juice bar right in the Cedar Hills complex! Hope to see you at Hillside!
HILLSIDE Cafe and Juice Bar is your source of hearty and healthy meals, smoothies, super foods and juices, freshly made from all natural ingredients that are locally and organically sourced whenever possible. Feel good with food that’s good for you!
Free-range Chicken Wings with Garlic Sesame
to stay updated on the opening date and promos!:)
When opening a new restaurant, one of my favourite parts is shopping for plates and tableware! We visited a couple of very well-known potters in the country and picked out lots of beautiful clay plates.
I met Ms, Lanelle Abueva-Fernando in Crescent Moon Cafe, her restaurant/shop in Antipolo. I just learned that she did the custom plates for a lot of big Japanese restaurant chains in the country like Yabu! Aside from plates for the resto, I got myself a suribachi bowl for crushing sesame seeds! 😛
These ceramic doughnuts are too cute!!
We also visited Ugu Bigyan in Tiaong, Quezon.
Love this bright blue collection!
We just have a couple more weeks to go before opening week, and thankfully, everything seems to be on the right track. Most of my days are spent organizing and prepping the little details before we move into the space, and it’s basically the reason why I only have 2 workshops this November: Calligraphy on the 8th, and Watercolor Lettering on the 9th.
It’s busy as usual, but I’m really looking forward to so many things this month. 🙂
Wishing you a great hallo-weekend ahead!
