From Blobs to Bulbs

Played around with my Dr. Ph Martin’s hydrus watercolors. Most of my paintings start out like this, as blobs. It’s only when I add the second or third layers that it starts to make sense. This was done on 300gsm Arches cold pressed paper. Inked straight away, no pencils (one deep breath and lakas ng loob lang, haha!).

Then, using Black Star calligraphy ink and the hunt 101 nib, I drew over the flowers… And then drew more flowers in between.

Once in a while, it’s nice to make or draw something without a plan or purpose. 🙂
