A few of the things I bought hoarded during our recent trip to Japan are watercolor pads and brushes. Decided to play with new materials last night.
300gsm Matt Watercolor Paper and a 10/0 liner brush. Ten. Zeroes. !!! I’m in love. Haha!
(I’m including a 10/0 liner brush at the Watercolored Flowers workshop on May 17!)
I wanted to leave a border around the paper, so I first lined the pad with washi tape from HeyKessy, one of their original designs. Love how this one’s extra wide and super sticky.

I started with underpainting the funghi shapes.
Then, I used the 10/0 liner brush to add all the details.
My watercolor mixtures (another thing thing that I teach at the workshops)
and the final artwork.
