Cuentos y Recuerdos

01-Cuentos Cuentos y Recuerdos
“You don’t have to be rich in order to
give.
It is enough to be good.
He who is good will always find something to
give.”

These are
the words of Spanish martyr, priest, educator and humanist, Saint Pedro Poveda
(1874-1936). Since 1960, Povedans in the
Philippines have been moved by Fr. Poveda’s life, works and words, to make a
difference in this world.

Cuentos y Recuerdos:  Povedan Spirit in Action is an inspiring
book of over 50 personal sharings by various Povedans (men and women, young and
old, from all walks of life) who are living out the Povedan spirit of social
action and loving service, in big and small ways.
This project is close to my heart, as I did watercolored typography and calligraphy for the book design. We printed it in record time, and launched it to the Poveda community on December 3, Fr. Poveda’s birthday, through a thanksgiving mass and dinner with current students, staff, and alumnae.03-Cuentos Cuentos y Recuerdos
I set up a small Pipino booth, and was finally able to introduce it to my alma mater 😉04-Cuentos Cuentos y Recuerdos

Oh, and my former teammate and friend Maia went to the launch! We hadn’t seen each other in years and squealed like little girls when we saw each other, haha.

With Povedans who generously shared their time and talents for the book:
Koyen, Heather & our master, Kritzia ;P08-Cuentos Cuentos y Recuerdos
To know more about the some of the stories in the book,
check out this video that Heather made.

100% of the proceeds of the book go to the Poveda Disaster Relief fund,
and to the Poveda Scholarship Fund.
To purchase the book, . 🙂
